Use the virtual sample room to approve a direction, not production
A virtual horse rug sample can help a buyer compare styles, body colours and binding or contrast colours before material is committed. It can also turn verbal comments into one saved configuration reference that a buyer, designer and factory team can discuss.
It cannot confirm fabric hand-feel, exact dyed colour, coating, fill, fit, hardware operation or sewing quality. Those decisions still require the selected material, a current physical colour reference and an approved physical sample.
Digital approval answers “Is this the design and colour direction we want to develop?” Physical approval answers “Is this material and product ready to become the production reference?”
Build one colour brief that everyone can identify
Choose the base style first, then set the main fabric area and binding or contrast area separately. If a known Pantone reference is available, enter it. If it is not, use the screen colour as a direction and mark the physical reference as pending.
- Save the configuration so it receives a unique project reference.
- Copy the share link for colleagues who need to review the same combination.
- Download the preview with the style, colour references and configuration number.
- Send that reference to the product-development team with intended use, target market and quantity.
This creates one identifiable record instead of several screenshots with contradictory comments.
Why Gugoo’s sample room is more than a colour picker
A generic colour picker changes a screen colour. Gugoo’s sample room is designed around the information a factory team needs for the next development conversation.
Three starting constructions
Compare a classic turnout rug, quilted full-neck rug and high-neck contrast-panel direction.
Separate product areas
Control the main fabric and binding or contrast area independently rather than approving one flat colour.
Pantone-referenced direction
Keep the visible colour, screen value and physical Pantone reference clearly separated.
Saved configuration ID
Each saved direction receives a GUGOO-RUG reference so teams can discuss the same version.
Share, restore and download
Return to a saved direction, share one link internally and download a labelled visual brief.
Factory hand-off
Send the selected direction with its reference before confirming material, sample and production requirements.
From scattered comments to one traceable development record
The difference is version control. A buyer can still change direction, but every stakeholder can identify which combination is being discussed and what remains unapproved.
A practical workflow from colour idea to physical sample
Explore
Select the closest construction and compare combinations without committing material.
Align
Share the configuration internally and close conflicting colour comments.
Brief
Add intended use, market, size range, materials, quantity, branding and target timing.
Sample
Confirm real fabric colour, hand-feel, fit, hardware and workmanship on the physical sample.
Control
Carry the approved colour and construction into the controlled bulk-production specification.
The tool does not eliminate the need for a physical sample. It helps avoid paying for a physical sample simply to discover that internal stakeholders never agreed on the basic style or colour direction.
Different buyers can use the same tool differently
Pre-align a customer-owned colour direction
Use the sample room to compare the brand’s intended body and trim direction before sending the final physical colour standard and technical pack.
Develop a differentiated first range
Compare combinations with commercial colleagues, then ask the factory team to review material, construction, quantity and target-price feasibility.
Make a custom programme easier to discuss
Use one visual configuration to begin a conversation about a store colourway, team identity, private label or Equeswear-supported option.
The configuration is a starting record, not a restriction. If a buyer needs a different construction, colour area, logo position or feature that is not shown, the saved scheme can still act as the first visual reference for a custom-development discussion.
What the factory still needs before sampling
Colour is only one part of a horse rug specification. Before a useful physical sample can be made, the project also needs a clear direction for shell fabric, lining and fill; neck and coverage; size system and measurement method; closures, surcingles and reinforcement; logo and labels; packaging; intended market; and relevant performance or compliance requirements.
A professional buyer does not need every answer on day one. The value of a development conversation is to identify which decisions are fixed, which remain open and what evidence is needed next.
Carry approved sample decisions into bulk production
The final colourway should be recorded in the same controlled product specification as the approved materials, measurements, construction details and packaging. Production teams then need access to that working reference, with any later change requiring written approval.
At Gugoo, the digital sample room is an early-stage communication tool. The physical sample, agreed specification and project-specific inspection plan remain the basis for bulk production and shipment release.

Buyer checklist before sending a colour direction
- Select the nearest base style.
- Confirm which area is the main body and which is binding or contrast.
- Enter known Pantone references; mark unknown physical colours as pending.
- Save the scheme and retain the configuration reference.
- Share the link with internal stakeholders before sampling.
- Add intended use, market, size range, material direction and estimated quantity.
- Approve the final colour only on the selected production material.
This guide describes a product-development workflow. On-screen colour varies by display, browser and lighting and must not be treated as an exact Pantone match or production approval.
