REGIONAL BUYING LANGUAGE

Horse rug and horse blanket manufacturing for regional markets.

ONE PRODUCT FAMILY · REGIONAL TERMINOLOGY

Custom horse rugs & horse blankets

These are two established market names for the same horsewear product family. The approved specification—not the regional name—controls climate, shell, fill, neck, fit, closures and required evidence.

Turnout blankets, stable blankets, winter blankets and sheets.

UNITED KINGDOM, EUROPE & AUSTRALIAHorse rugs

Turnout rugs, stable rugs, winter rugs and lightweight sheets.

WHOLESALE & PRIVATE LABEL

Is Gugoo a horse rug wholesale supplier?

Yes, for made-to-order B2B programmes. Gugoo supports brands, importers, distributors and wholesale buyers through project-specific OEM, ODM and private-label production rather than a fixed stock catalogue.

HORSE RUG SIZE DEVELOPMENT

Agree the measurement method before grading the range.

Market labels alone are not a production size chart. The buyer's measurement convention, base size, grading increments and permitted tolerances are confirmed against the approved physical sample.

Measurement route reference
01

Body length system

Confirm whether the range is labelled by back length, chest-to-tail measurement or the buyer's established market convention.

02

Fit checkpoints

Record chest position, shoulder freedom, wither clearance, side depth, tail coverage and strap placement.

03

Grading & tolerances

Approve the base size first, then document grading increments and measurement tolerances for the complete size range.

Final centimetre and inch values are project-specific and are not published until the buyer's size chart and physical sample are approved.

ONE HORSE RUG SPECIFICATION

Confirm function, fit and identity together.

A product name or denier number is not enough for quotation or bulk control. The following decisions should be written into one approved brief.

01

Climate & use

Indoor or outdoor, exposure, season, wearing routine and target retail promise.

02

Shell, lining & fill

Fibre, weave, coating, lining, nominal insulation and applicable test targets.

03

Fit & sizing

Measurement method, base size, neck profile, chest, shoulder, depth and grading.

04

Construction & identity

Closures, gussets, surcingles, reinforcement, binding, logo, labels and packing.

05

Approval & inspection

Physical sample, tolerances, test evidence, bulk checkpoints and shipment release method.

QUOTE & SAMPLE SPECIFICATION

Specify the shell, weather protection and warmth before the sample.

Choose the product architecture first, then confirm the exact material, colour, hardware and test route against the physical sample. Each item below can be configured for a private-label programme.

01 · SHELL & WEIGHT

Ripstop outer fabric

1200D polyester Oxford or 1680D ballistic nylon direction, with tear and abrasion targets agreed for the intended use.

  • Nominal fabric weights: 150g, 200g, 250g or 300g/m²
  • Panelled / colour-block construction or a clean single-shell body
  • Pantone body, binding, lower-panel and logo direction
02 · WATER & AIRFLOW

Weather protection, written clearly

Specify the coating or membrane, required hydrostatic-pressure target and which seams receive heat-applied waterproof tape.

  • Water-resistance target and test method confirmed by project
  • Breathability and moisture-vapour route specified separately
  • Breathable mesh, lining and vent choices by climate and use
03 · LINING & WARMTH

Light layer to winter insulation

Choose cotton-rich or non-cotton lining, then match fill and moisture management to stable, turnout or travel use.

  • Lightweight unfilled sheet or fleece cooler / “horse underwear” layer
  • 100g, 200g, 250g or 300g insulation directions
  • Thicker winter construction with lining and fill confirmed together
04 · COMPONENTS & MAKE

Closures that match the brief

Front fastening, surcingles, leg straps, binding and reinforcement are selected with the shell and end use—not as generic add-ons.

  • Metal buckles or Duraflex buckle systems, subject to approved component route
  • Coats sewing thread direction, seam reinforcement and bartack positions
  • Chest, shoulder, tail flap and panel joins checked on the physical sample

MOQ & material planning: Custom programmes start from 100 pieces. Around 300 rugs can use approximately 1,000 metres of shell fabric depending on pattern, size mix, width, panel layout and wastage; the final material order is calculated against the approved specification.
