Begin with equipment dimensions and user routine
List the exact equipment, typical dimensions, access sequence and storage environment. A tall riding-boot bag needs shape and separation; a helmet bag needs protection and ventilation; a grooming organiser needs visible, cleanable compartments; a bridle bag must manage long, sensitive leather components.
Build the structure as a material system
Specify outer fabric, coating, lining, padding, PE board or other support, mesh, binding, zip, webbing and base reinforcement. Decide which surfaces need wipe-clean construction and where ventilation is helpful. The heaviest fabric is not automatically the best if it makes the product bulky or difficult to sew cleanly.
Reinforce how the bag is actually handled
Review handle and shoulder-strap attachment, zip-end stress, base corners, dividers and loaded balance. Agree seam and reinforcement construction at these points, then test samples with representative contents rather than empty on a table.
Turn branding into a controlled specification
Define logo method and position, colour standards, label set, pullers, lining, retail insert and final packing. Check that branding remains visible without occupying abrasion or folding zones.
